SEND(OLD)
An inclusive community centred on the gospel value of love.
All Saints is a Catholic community with a firm foundation in the teachings of Christ. We centre our work around a number of core values: faith, family, community, excellence, resilience and respect. These are at the very heart of our purpose and our day to day work.
Our College vision for student is ‘Be inspired. Be excellent. Succeed’.
Across the college, all staff will foster this vision throughout their work and thereby strive to ensure that we provide an excellent education for all of our students so that they fulfil and exceed their expectations.
The Learning Centre upholds the whole school promotion of Quality First Teaching as the first and fundamentally necessary step towards a more inclusive learning community.
Our SEND and Accessibility policies, along with our SEND Information Report can be found in the Policies and Procedures section of our website.

How do we assess the level of need of our pupils?
When a pupil transitions into our setting we explore all data and information about them before they start. We work in close partnership with the local authority as well as utilising the below sources:
- Primary School Transition- We meet with SENCO's from the primary schools to discuss any SEND support or EHCP pupils and the adjustments required for them to make a successful transition.
- Key Stage 2 SATS results are considered but all pupils will complete Year 7 CATs tests. This allows us to group the children in order of ability and ensure they are matched with the most appropriate peer group.
- We work in partnership with other professionals e.g. Educational Psychologists, Social Workers to ensure any specialised support is put in place.
- Parental information is of course very important to us. We run parent coffee mornings in the summer term so that SEND parents can meet us ahead of their child starting and we maintain regular communication with them throughout the school year.
How are the school’s resources allocated and matched to the needs of a child with SEND?
All students’ progress, behaviour and wellbeing are regularly monitored throughout their time with us. The greater the students need the more support we offer, utilising the ‘assess-plan-do-review model’ and ‘graduated approach’ outlined in the SEND Code of Practice. In the first instance we ensure that students are receiving high quality teaching and that all teaching styles and resources are accessible.
How will you support my child?
Across the school, all staff will foster this vision throughout their work and thereby strive to ensure that we provide an excellent education for all of our students so that they fulfil and exceed their expectations. All Saints is an inclusive setting. We believe every student is an individual and we are passionate about supporting and encouraging every young person we teach to reach their full potential, not only academically but as engaged, responsible future members of society.
How does the school know how well my child is doing?
Students are closely monitored in all subject areas and there is one parent’s evening a year, one annual SEND review if your child has an EHCP and there can be additional review meetings. Teachers, subject leaders, heads of year and pastoral staff regularly monitor the progress of all pupils, and we welcome contact from parents at any time to discuss concerns. All staff have access to our SEND pupil passports, and these are used to communicate specific needs to all adults working with your child. Class charts is used to monitor behaviour and staff can share any concerns about a pupil's attainment and development.
