Retreats

During your child’s time at All Saints Catholic College, there will be many opportunities to take part in visits and trips that support and extend learning beyond the classroom. These include local educational visits as well as overseas trips to a variety of destinations, helping pupils broaden their experiences and enrich their understanding of the curriculum.

Each year, pupils also have the opportunity to attend a retreat organised by our Chaplaincy Team. These retreats provide valuable opportunities for reflection, spiritual development, prayer and participation in enriching activities that support pupils' faith journey.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is all about going the extra mile, gaining new skills, challenging yourself physically, helping others and exploring new environments. Along the way, participants build friendships, develop confidence and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Open to young people aged 14 to 24, the DofE allows participants to choose activities that interest and motivate them, making each award a unique personal journey. The skills and experiences gained through the programme are highly valued by colleges, universities and employers.

At All Saints Catholic College, we are proud to support pupils through their DofE journey and the many opportunities it provides for personal growth and development. Participants can take part in a wide range of activities, including volunteering, physical activities and skills-based challenges, many of which can be completed within school or through our enrichment programme.

Pupils contribute to the wider community in a variety of ways, from supporting younger students with reading to volunteering at school events. The expedition section is often the highlight of the award. Participants learn valuable life skills including map reading, navigation, route planning, campcraft, teamwork, first aid and CPR before putting these skills into practice on expedition.

DofE expeditions take place twice during the year, providing pupils with the opportunity to develop resilience, independence and teamwork in an outdoor environment.
